With Halloween just around the corner, A&S Productions decided that now is the time to break their silence regarding their show after a hiatus. In case you have no idea what we're talking about- the company released the show's first teaser!
And as promised, more treats for you ghoulish dreamers!
Viewers will get a full length season that includes 13 episodes and a mid-season finale which will be shown on Vimeo from this point on. Episode 1, which has been renamed as the Pilot, has been re-shot and edited, frame by frame. Due to the nature and material of the first season, a second season script has already been written but a final decision will not be made until later on following an official statement regarding the show's future. Fans should expect a cast of three main characters this season. A premiere date has not been issued.
Monroe Hayden is currently still signed on to play Fox and if a second season should be made, she's attached to the role. Michael Lozano is signed to play a new character introduced as Alexander Veitch. Alexander plays an important role in the future of the three girls: Fox, Mina and Daisy, herself.
The teaser features a brief glimpse of the antagonist in the show's first season. Fans have discovered beautiful elements of the Dream World from Daisy but have yet to explore the other aspects of the dimension which includes The Nightmare Realms. After all, what is a dream if you don't get a nightmare every once in a while? Xavier Haven originally wished to include a sort of nightmare-ish atmosphere in the books but felt that it would steal focus from Daisy's realities. Those aspects he wished to include will finally make their appearance for the show's first season as Mina's story is a lot darker- similar but darker.
You asked, so they wrote it in! Daisy is scheduled to make an appearance alongside her pals Bethany and Priscilla.
Happy Halloween Foxers!

'Fox' Web Series Returns! Here's What To Expect!
Alexis Naiomi and Monroe Hayden from Fox |
“I want a girl to call my own. I want
a dream lover so I don’t have to dream alone,” sang Bobby Darin, the American
singer and actor in his 1959 hit, “Dream Lover”. And although we’re not sure if
he would approve of Adriana Escandon’s murky, emotional, ground- breaking
fantasy drama- we are sure that her new show, “Fox” will bring the term
Dream Lover to a whole new level!
Fox is versatile and fits in a number of genres from
young adult to gay & lesbian to fantasy. It is a modern fairy tale that
shadows friendship and love and what happens when the two combine all the while
taking place in two different worlds and paying tribute to the fairy tales that
inspired the show. The series begins calmly and gently, setting the stage for
the two women who will capture our hearts and make us swoon but beware for it’s
always calm before the storm.
Mina Abrams
is played by 18- year old Alexis Naiomi,
who seems like a normal girl in every way except she has accidently fallen in
love with her best friend and that love has sent her into a “whirlwind of
fantasy- like events” by transporting her into a dream world. I should also
note that the series serves as a prequel to Xavier Haven’s digital chapter series, Daisy. In the
books, Mina may have had a minor role but her character is far different from
the version we see in the show. Fox focuses
on her transformation from an innocent, small town girl to the daring and
independent young woman we first met in the books.
However,
like with all fairy tales, darkness lurks every corner, patiently waiting to take
over your imagination. The darker aspect of the series is introduced by the
dream girl herself, Fox played by Monroe
Hayden. Fans may associate Fox with the word: perfection but this series assures us that this new Fox is imperfectly perfect with her dark secrets, animalistic presence and fearless attitude. In Episode 1 it is clear that she is hiding something as her
emotions seem unaltered when she wakes up in a strange forest then shortly
after, instead of fearing what waits in the rotten darkness, she actually
ventures into it unafraid as if she’s been there before, which Daisy fans will know she obviously has.
Although the episode is very short Daniel Flores brought the magic of film making wizardry by building up the tension- gluing your eyes to the screen as you anxiously waited to find out what is in the box only to wait until the next episode! You can rest assured that every episode from now on will be 3 to 10 minutes long if not longer but I can’t promise you that every mystery will be solved by the end of each.
The series
itself is taking a risk and is ground- breaking in many ways by having their two leading characters be lesbians with
no male figure to question either of their sexualities and without 'teaching' viewers about lesbianism or the 'gay lifestyle' that shows like The L Word and Lip Service offered in the past. Behind the curtain, the
cast and crew are primarily female in which, with a little feminine touch, the
love story is handled with care to avoid the salacious perspective of a male
fantasy. However, male viewers (and who are we kidding- female viewers too) will get their thrill, one way or another.
With a rating of TV-14, parents are still urged to do their research before allowing their children to watch anything on the internet but rest assured Fox will maintain their guidelines.
Fox returns May 30, 2014 on Youtube.
